$8 Million Gas To Energy Project For Berks County Landfill Gets OK By State
The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has issued a permit for a gas to energy plant at the Pioneer Crossing Landfill, a J.P. Mascaro & Sons affiliated facility in Exeter Township, Berks County.  The gas to energy plant will beneficially use methane gas generated from waste disposed at the landfill to produce 50 million kilowatt hours of electricity per year, which is enough to power about 12,000 homes. more »
