This Spring, J.P. Mascaro & Sons kicked off its “RESPECT Program” in area elementary schools and the program has been an unqualified success.

Thus far, in 74 presentations, about 6,000 young students have enjoyed the interesting, interactive and fun-filled “RESPECT Program”, which is designed to remind children of the importance of respect in their lives, including respect for the environment.
“The children love this upbeat program.  They really enjoy ‘Dumpo’, the Mascaro elephant mascot, and the program giveaways, and the respect message is getting through”, said Program Coordinator Diana Iskolsky.

To date, presentations have been made or are scheduled in schools in the Norristown, Methacton, Wissahickon, North Penn, Pottstown, Upper Dublin, Colonial, Springford, Downington, Coatesville, Daniel Boone, Owen J. Roberts and Carbondale School Districts, among others, as well as in area parochial schools.

“We’ve only scratched the surface and the number of participating districts will greatly expand in this upcoming school year”, said Iskolsky.  “The teachers are enthusiastic about the ‘RESPECT Program’ because it delivers an important message, it’s fun for their students, and it touches upon several of the State’s educational standards”, added Iskolsky who herself taught elementary school for five years.
