J. P. MASCARO & SONS WINS 3.6 MILLION DOLLAR CONTRACT
City official’s awarded a $3.6 million contract to J. P. Mascaro & Sons, a local waste removal/-recycling contractor to serve the City of Pottsville. Mascaro is to provide weekly curbside trash and recycling collection for approximately 4,500 city households for the next 4 years starting March 1, 2007.
Mascaro’s Berks county division will provide the collection service for the City. Mascaro is a major supplier of municipal service in the southeastern and northeastern regions of Pennsylvania. The company, founded and headquartered in Montgomery County, is the largest privately owned waste company in the northeast. To serve its regional customer base, Mascaro collects, recycles, transfers, transports, disposes, beneficially uses and composts non-hazardous solid waste. Founded by J.P. Mascaro, Sr. and continued by his five sons, the company now has the benefit of a growing number of third generation family members to guide the business in the future.
