MASCARO WINS $11.5 MILLION CONTRACT TO SERVE WHITEHALL TOWNSHIP, LEHIGH COUNTY

On November, 9, 2009, J.P. Mascaro & Sons won a 5 year, $11.5 million contract to provide comprehensive waste, recycling, leaf collection and disposal services for all the homes in Whitehall Township, Lehigh County. UPPER POTTSGROVE TOWNSHIP AWARDS 5-YR. MUNICIPAL CONTRACT TO J.P. MASCARO & SONS
With an eye toward saving its residents money, the Upper Pottsgrove Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a five-year contract to Audubon based, Solid Waste Company, J. P. Mascaro & Sons. The contract was awarded to Mascaro as the lowest responsible bidder over three other companies. The switch to a single-hauler system in Upper Pottsgrove will save the residents significant dollars.  Company President, Pat Mascaro commenting on the award noted: “More and more, we are seeing municipalities converting to municipal-wide collection contracts. This way, not only are the municipalities able to offer a more comprehensive list of services, but first and foremost they are saving their residents money.” The new contract covers weekly refuse and recycling, collection of yard waste from April through December, and bulk item pick-up.   Mascaro will also conduct the billing which will save the Township from any administrative costs. more»

TOWNSHIP SUPERVISOR CANDIDATES SUED FOR DEFAMATION
A new and impacting lawsuit was filed in Montgomery County last week.  Donald Thomas and Colleen Eckman, the Republican nominees for Lower Providence Township Supervisor positions in the November 2009 election, were sued for defamation in a detailed 17 page Complaint filed by William F. Fox, Jr., Esquire on behalf of his client, J.P. Mascaro & Sons and two of its officers.
The lawsuit seeks damages, including punitive damages, from Thomas and Eckman for false and defamatory statements they made in a last minute “smear campaign mailer” sent to Lower Providence Township homes days before the May 19, 2009 primary election.
Also named as Defendants are the Thomas-Eckman political committees and their officers, Christopher DiPaolo, Mary Ralston and Kathleen Eskie, as well as additional unknown and unnamed committee members. more»

JOINT COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN BOROUGH OF BIRDSBORO AND PIONEER CROSSING LANDFILL
At its April public meeting, the Birdsboro Borough Council approved entering into a “unique” Joint Cooperation Agreement with the Pioneer Crossing Landfill, a J.P. RESPECT PROGRAM GRAND PRIZE POSTER CONTEST WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT
On Thursday, July 2, 2009, The RESPECT Program sponsored by J.P. Mascaro and Sons will announce the grand prize winner of their Third Annual RESPECT Program Poster Contest.  The RESPECT Program was kicked off in 2007 and to date has been presented to almost 100,000 children.  This FREE forty-five minute assembly presentation is geared toward children in the third through fifth grades and teaches children about respect in their everyday lives, highlighting respect for the environment through recycling.  . more

MASCARO WINS CONTRACT VALUED AT $1.1 MILLION TO SERVE WEST POTTSGROVE TOWNSHIP
Local solid waste and recycling company, J.P. Mascaro & Sons has been awarded a new contract to service West Pottsgrove Township. The contract starts on July 1st and covers removal of waste and recyclables for all residents at cost of 1.1 million on a three-year basis. more

This University will benefit from Mascaro’s strategically situated locations in Pennsylvania. J.P. Victory Christian Fellowship Moves to Mascaro Headquarters
Victory Christian Fellowship, formerly at 601 North Park Avenue, has moved to a new facility adjacent to Route 422. The church now leases and occupies the first floor of the J. P. Mascaro & Sons headquarters building at 2650 Audubon Road in Audubon. J. P. Mascaro & Sons thoroughly renovated the building to include a 630-seat auditorium with state-of-the-art audio, a café with kitchen, and substantial classroom and meeting space to serve the adults, youth, and children of the community. President of J.P. Mascaro & Sons, Pasquale (Pat) Mascaro said, “The Mascaro family is delighted to share our building with the Victory Christian Fellowship Church. It is quite evident to me that Victory possesses excellent leadership and I am certain the congregation will expand and take advantage of the excellent resource within our facility” . more »

MASCARO WINS CONTRACT VALUED AT $2.7 MILLION TO SERVE CLARKS SUMMIT IN LACKAWANNA COUNTY
Solid waste and recycling company, J.P. Mascaro & Sons has been awarded a contract to service Clarks Summit Borough in Lackawanna County. The contract covers removal of waste and recyclables for all residents at cost of $2.7 million on up to a five-year basis.
