Victory Christian Fellowship Moves to Mascaro Headquarters

Victory Christian Fellowship, formerly at 601 North Park Avenue, has moved to a new facility adjacent to Route 422. The church now leases and occupies the first floor of the J. P. Mascaro & Sons headquarters building at 2650 Audubon Road in Audubon. J. P. Mascaro & Sons thoroughly renovated the building to include a 630-seat auditorium with state-of-the-art audio, a café with kitchen, and substantial classroom and meeting space to serve the adults, youth, and children of the community. President of J.P. Mascaro & Sons, Pasquale (Pat) Mascaro said, “The Mascaro family is delighted to share our building with the Victory Christian Fellowship Church. It is quite evident to me that Victory possesses excellent leadership and I am certain the congregation will expand and take advantage of the excellent resource within our facility”.

After a period of rapid growth, the church began to hold services at Methacton High School in April 2004, with a goal of building a new facility at their Park Avenue campus in Trooper. Before breaking ground, however, some seemingly chance circumstances led to a dialogue between Victory’s pastor, Dr. Edward Crenshaw, and Pat Mascaro, Lower Providence resident and president of J. P. Mascaro & Sons. Both Mascaro and Crenshaw recognized an opportunity for a mutually beneficial relationship that would also enhance community life in the region.

Crenshaw says the seventy-three-year-old congregation is very excited about the expanded opportunities presented by their new facility. “We were thrilled about being able to meet at Methacton High School when we outgrew our church building. But, with the difficulty of being a portable church, along with the challenge of building construction in today’s economic environment, we are thanking God for giving us the opportunity to serve in such a great facility, with easy access to so many people. It’s really a fantastic situation for us.”

Victory Christian Fellowship is a growing church with an expressive, contemporary style of worship for which the new facility is ideal. Victory is very diverse generationally, with young and old alike enjoying its dynamic music style, led by Pastor of Worship Arts Liam Slack, formerly of the Christian rock band Kurios. The church is also very multicultural, with over twenty-five nations represented by the members of the congregation and with a wide range of educational attainments. “We strive to be welcoming to people in all walks of life,” says Crenshaw. “We believe that no matter who you are, you have a place in God’s family.”

The building sits alongside Route 422 and is very close to the expressway’s Trooper exit. This location greatly increases the church’s visibility and accessibility, putting it within a 20-minute Sunday morning drive of over 380,000 people. More than 50,000 vehicles a day pass by the facility on Route 422. Also, the Audubon Road facility has a bus stop on the Septa Route 131, whereas Victory’s previous locations on Park Avenue and at Methacton High School had no bus access.

Sunday morning services are being held at 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. at the 2650 Audubon Road facility. For more information, refer to the church’s Website, 422church.com, or call 610-676-0422.
