UPPER POTTSGROVE TOWNSHIP AWARDS 5-YR. MUNICIPAL CONTRACT TO J.P. MASCARO & SONS
With an eye toward saving its residents money, the Upper Pottsgrove Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a five-year contract to Audubon based, Solid Waste Company, J. P. Mascaro & Sons. The contract was awarded to Mascaro as the lowest responsible bidder over three other companies. The switch to a single-hauler system in Upper Pottsgrove will save the residents significant dollars. Company President, Pat Mascaro commenting on the award noted: “More and more, we are seeing municipalities converting to municipal-wide collection contracts. This way, not only are the municipalities able to offer a more comprehensive list of services, but first and foremost they are saving their residents money.” The new contract covers weekly refuse and recycling, collection of yard waste from April through December, and bulk item pick-up. Mascaro will also conduct the billing which will save the Township from any administrative costs.
The Upper Pottsgrove contract will be serviced by Mascaro’s Berks County Division which services municipal, residential and industrial contracts in Berks, Montgomery, Chester and Schuylkill Counties.
J.P. Mascaro & Sons is a local family owned and operated company with over 750 employees. It services customers throughout the mid-Atlantic region. |
