RESPECT PROGRAM GRAND PRIZE POSTER CONTEST WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT

On Thursday, July 2, 2009, The RESPECT Program sponsored by J.P. Mascaro and Sons will announce the grand prize winner of their Third Annual RESPECT Program Poster Contest.  The RESPECT Program was kicked off in 2007 and to date has been presented to almost 100,000 children.  This FREE forty-five minute assembly presentation is geared toward children in the third through fifth grades and teaches children about respect in their everyday lives, highlighting respect for the environment through recycling.

At the assembly, J.P. Mascaro and Sons will host a “Sneak Peak” event previewing the NEW and improved RESPECT Program which will now highlight respect for your health as well. Schools from across Pennsylvania are welcome to attend to preview and book for the 2009/2010 school year.   At this time Mascaro will also host a Luncheon and Poster Contest Ceremony where the grand prize winner of a laptop computer will be announced.  The ten finalists who are in the running for the grand prize will represent Longstreth Elementary, Cold Spring Elementary, James Buchanan Elementary, Ridge Park Elementary, Emerson Elementary, Saint Mary’s School, Quarry Hills Elementary and East Bradford Elementary.  In the 2008/2009 School year the RESPECT Program visited 134 schools, presenting to over 30,000 children.  The children are all given the opportunity to submit a poster into the contest that represents what they have learned.    “The posters that were entered into this year’s contest were remarkable.  It’s obvious that the children really paid attention to the presentation and took home the message we were relaying.  We are very proud of the finalists and excited to announce the winner”, comments Lindsay Mascaro, Director of Education and Community Relations for J.P. Mascaro and Sons.

J.P. Mascaro and Sons commits over $250,000.00 a year to this program and offers it as a service to the community, free of charge.  Their goal for the next school year is to present to 50,000 children.  “In order to achieve success, you first must know respect.  It is at the core of all we do and we feel it’s important to relay this message to today’s youth”.
