J. P. MASCARO & SONS WINS SLUDGE HAULING CONTRACT VALUED AT $4.5 TO 7.5 MILLION DOLLAR
On July 29, 2008 local solid waste removal company, J. P. Mascaro & Sons, was awarded a bio-solids management contract worth $4.5 to $7.5 million dollars. The contract awarded by city council will service the wastewater treatment plant located in Reading, Pennsylvania, for a 3 to 5 year period. Mascaro will be responsible for transportation and disposal of all the sludge generated by the city’s wastewater treatment plant, disposal will take place at Mascaro’s Pioneer Crossing landfill located in Exeter Township.
J. P. Mascaro & Sons is a local company founded and headquartered in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania and is the largest privately owned solid waste company in Northeast Pennsylvania. The company was founded by Joseph P. Mascaro, Sr. and is operated by his five sons.
