MASCARO WINS $4.7 MILLION DOLLAR CONTRACT TO SERVE THE CITY OF NANTICOKE

City officials voted unanimously to award a five-year contract to solid waste hauling company,  J. P. Mascaro & Sons. The contract covers removal of waste, bulk, recyclables and yard waste at a total cost of $4.7 million dollars to serve all the residents of Nanticoke, Luzerne County.

This service is provided by Mascaro's Wyoming Valley division, which employs about 120 personnel. This facility is the base operation for 50 collection vehicles, which serve seven counties, such as, Carbon, Luzerne, Lackawanna, Monroe, Columbia, Wayne and Pike counties. In those counties, 39 local municipalities, along with 10 school districts, benefit from well-organized daily collection services.
