J. P. MASCARO & SONS WINS 27 MILLON DOLLAR CONTRACT TO SERVE 24,000 HOMES IN BUCKS COUNTY
The Southwestern Bucks Solid Waste Communities (“SWBSWC”) of Northampton Township, Upper Southampton Township and Lower Southampton Township in Bucks County have awarded local solid waste company, J. P. Mascaro & Sons, a long-term contract to provide trash collection and recycling services for 24,000 homes.
In a recent comprehensive bid process, in which the largest national companies participated, Mascaro submitted the most competitive bid, and each of the SWBSWC municipalities voted to accept that bid and award a long-term contract to Mascaro.
The SWBSWC contract starts on May 1, 2011; it is for a term up to five years and eight months, and has a value of 27 million dollars. Under the new contract, the 24,000 SWBSWC homeowners will receive weekly curbside trash collection and single stream recyclable collection in a new 64 gallon recycling toter provided by Mascaro.
